Event Overview

MARTIN SIMPSON: SOME KIND OF JUBILEE

Join Martin Simpson for the launch of Some Kind of Jubilee, performed live at Kings Place on the day the album is released.

Widely recognised as one of the finest acoustic and slide guitar players in the world, Simpson has spent five decades turning traditional song into something intensely personal. His interpretations are masterclasses in storytelling, delivered with a depth that has held audiences for over fifty years.

Some Kind of Jubilee marks half a century since his first LP. Recorded in Yorkshire and Santa Monica, it brings together new original material, reimagined classics and traditional songs shaped by a lifetime of playing. This concert opens the wider tour celebrating its release.

Arrive early for Scottish singer, songwriter and clàrsach player Anna McLuckie, live in the Foyer from 7.15pm.

Simpson's live shows are intimate, eclectic and deeply moving. A rare chance to hear a legendary player up close at a defining moment in his career.
