British Library

The British Library is the national library of the United Kingdom and is open to everyone. Its collection contains more than 170 million items and grows every day, spanning books, manuscripts, maps, newspapers, sound recordings, patents, prints and drawings.

By collecting everything published in the UK and working with libraries and partners worldwide, the Library preserves knowledge and cultural heritage for future generations while giving researchers, visitors and communities access to some of the world's most significant stories and ideas.
